CCCP, Союз Советских Социалистических Республик, has contributed a lot to chess theory as we play today. With seven World Champions. Botvinnik, Smyslov, Tal, Petrosian, Spassky, Karpov and Kasparov, besides new generations like Kramnik, Ivanchuk, its' influence on chess is immense. Many youngsters from Russia, Ukraine, Armenia and Azerbaijan are making their way to the top still. But it is not just about winning. It is testing creative ideas. New concepts.
