My coaching methods are based on a holistic and classical approach to chess education, combined with practical insights from learning science and performance psychology. Usually, each student follows a customised training plan designed for long term improvement.

Some of the areas I focus on in my training include:

Building strong strategic understanding through in-depth analysis of classical games, typical middlegame structures, and the thinking techniques used by top players and as a result developing a strong intuitive understanding of the game
Strengthening calculation and visualization abilities through well-structured training that targets core skills like candidate move selection and precise evaluation of tactical sequences, aimed at improving depth, accuracy, and awareness over the board
Designing a practical and personalized opening repertoire suited to the student’s style and level
Developing endgame technique by studying practical methods as well as key theoretical positions that are vital in order to play the endgame masterfully
Improving tactical sharpness through pattern recognition, solving exercises rooted in real game situations, and cultivating creative thinking through curated studies and compositions
Enhancing vital chess skills such as focus, time management, and decision making under pressure
Training students to critically analyze their own games, identify recurring mistakes, and build the ability to learn independently
Preparing for tournaments with guidance on planning, mindset, clock management, and handling pressure over the board
