I once had fallen deep into a pit,

Where silence wrapped the walls in shadowed gray.

No flame, no voice, no hope, no light was lit—

Just aching hours that swallowed night and day.

Yet in that hollow stillness, faint and low,

A whisper stirred the dust beneath my pain.

It spoke of roots that bloom where sorrows grow,

Of morning born through agony and strain.

With trembling steps I rose, not whole, but true,

Each scar a mark of where the light broke in.

The sky looked down with mercy’s healing hue,

And sang of grace that grows from what has been.

Though darkness knew me, it could never stay—

I walk again within the shining day.
