The idea is to start a series of tournaments, each on a different opening theme (open, semi-open, closed).
A good opportunity to study/review the theory and learn while playing and having fun.
The opening for the next tournament can be chosen by you. We will do a survey and the winning one will be chosen!
Very brief presentation of the players who gave the name to this defense.
We are in the 1800 "romantic" period of chess:
Marcus Kann (Vienna 1820 - 1886) Austrian. We owe to him in-depth analyses of this opening.
Horatio Caro (1862 - 1920) British who spent most of his chess life in Berlin. He played several important matches. He drew in 1892 and again in 1903 against Curt von Bardeleben, famous for the game played (and lost) against Steinitz in the Hastings tournament 1895, which earned Steinitz the “beauty prize”.

Brevissima presentazione degli ideatori di questa difesa. Siamo nel 1800 periodo “romantico” degli sccacchi:
Marcus Kann (Vienna 1820 - 1886) austriaco, cui si devono analisi approfondite su questa apertura.
Horatio Caro (1862 - 1920) britannico che passò la maggior parte della sua vita scacchistica a Berlino. Disputò diversi incorntri improtanti. Pattò contro Nel 1892 pattò con Curt von Bardeleben, celebre per la partita giocata (e persa) contro Steinitz nel torneo di Hastings 1895, che valse a Steinitz il premio di bellezza.
