Here at Chess.com at BERSERKIR we focus on daily chess matches. We also share free chess tips in our community (we have many strong players, including titled ones). We are a non-profit organization. In the future we are planning to hold events with the distribution of membership gifts.

Our most important rule: when participating in a Team match, you must NEVER LOSE BECAUSE OF TIMEOUTS. It is unfair to the rest of the team that is fighting for victory.

history of our name

Berserkir (or berserks / Berserkers) were Norse warriors who are primarily reported in Icelandic literature to have fought in a trance-like fury. These champions would often go into battle without mail-coats. Berserkers are attested to in numerous Old Norse sources.

Listen closely, for I shall regale you with of an extraordinary opportunity that resides within the tightly knit fellowship of the ferocious "Berserkers." They relentlessly seek mighty battles, hungering for resplendent glory upon the vast chess battlefield.

While feeble clubs engage in trivial team matches, we transcend their feeble efforts as we unite to "fight battles together." In their midst, they boast of mere club members, but we proudly stand as "warriors and kindred spirits," ascending in rank through valorous participation in the relentless skirmishes ⚔

Our mighty Jarl 🪓, with a heart as fearless as Odin's, commands an ever-growing legion of valiant Hersirs, Skutils, Drengs, and Varangians, each ascending the esteemed ranks to claim the noble titles of Jarls, Thanes, and even Warlords.

Our banter echoes through the halls of Valhalla, for it is fueled by mirth and amusement! Our ultimate quest is to forge unbreakable bonds of friendship and march triumphantly together on the path of victory, while basking in the camaraderie we have fostered.

We fearlessly partake in the legendary "Club Wars" League tournaments, where our mettle is tested against the mightiest adversaries.
