Only Current Cathedral High School students or Cathedral Alumni can JOIN!
Cathedral High School, established in 1925, is a Catholic college preparatory institution in El Paso, Texas. Rooted in the rich, three-century-old Lasallian tradition, our club upholds the five core principles of Faith in the Presence of God, Concern for the Poor and Social Justice, Respect for All Persons, Quality Education, and Inclusive Community.
For nearly a century, Cathedral High School students experience a deep sense of camaraderie and brotherhood that is reflective of the larger Cathedral community. Here, young men collaborate not just in their chess games but also in academics, college preparation, community service, and athletics.
At Cathedral, we believe in nurturing each student's God-given potential. Through our chess club, students sharpen their strategic thinking, discipline, and leadership skills—preparing them for the challenges of an ever-changing global landscape. We serve where there is need, teach where there is ignorance, and share hope where there is despair. Our chess club embodies these values, offering a space where students can grow intellectually and spiritually while building lifelong friendships.
