"Once you shut out the clamor of the result and simply persevere, success is bound to be yours."

-Viswanathan Anand, World Chess Champion

My style of play is positional and planned. I try to keep the board complicated and closed for a tough game. I slowly restrict my opponent and tie them down for a checkmate.

I start with 1. d4 and play the Queen's Gambit, the Catalan, and the Stonewall Defense with white. My openings with black include the Caro Kann Defense, the Nimzo-Indian Defense, and the Slav Defense.

I studied the games of Fabiano Caruana, Anatoly Karpov, and Viswanathan Anand. Within my own games, I try to incorporate the styles of Karpov and Anand, as their style of play intrigues me.

I have participated in several local, regional, and state tournaments across North Carolina, slowly developing a respectable USCF rating as well as a Chess.com rating. To this day, I constantly try to improve my understanding of the game.

My chess collection includes many books, "My System" by Aron Nimzowitsch, "Chess for Success" by Maruice Ashley, and "How to Reassess Your Chess" by Jermey Silman. I respect authors such as Christof Sielecki and John Bartholomew and the educational resources they have produced.

Feel free to send me a challenge, I prefer a 10|0 Rapid game or 25|5 Classical game. I'm always open for a chat as well! Thanks for reading, and I plan to meet you across the board soon!

I offer tutoring as well, if interested, please send me a message.
