Began chess career in 1972, in early days was a sparring partner and analyzer helping future World Champion (1985 - 2000) Garry Kasparov.

In 1986 was one of GM Garry Kasparov coaches during his World Chess Championship match against Anatoly Karpov in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
In 1993 was the coach of Georgian WGM Nana Ioseliani during her World Chess Championship match against WGM Xie Jun (China) in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

Prepared many young players, who achieved international titles and high results. 

Assisted Kazakh superstar IM, WGM Assaubayeva Bibisara at the beginning of her chess career.
Between 1983 and 1986 was the coach of Tunisian National Team.
Between 1994 and 2023 was the head chess coach of Dubai Chess & Culture Club.
Have extensive knowledge of chess strategy and endgames.
