Hello everyone, my name is Don in the offline world! I learned to play chess at the age of four and have loved the game ever since. I used to play in plenty of tournaments as a kid, but now I currently enjoy teaching the joys of chess to people of all ages.

My username reflects my lifelong love of meteorology, which I am currently studying at university.

My other interests are hiking, playing and listening to music, following the burgundy and gold (raise hail), and chess data analytics. I specifically enjoy listening to 80s jazz fusion and synthesizers.

I am the vice president of the Illini Chess Club, which meets weekly on Sunday 3pm. During club meetings, I am open to analyzing games from anyone who wants it. I also have significant experience teaching chess to both children and adults.

Returning to OTB is a fun fantasy to ponder, but I don’t want to be brought to justice for my terrible openings.
