On a NationaI Level Im proud to still hold the record for most consecutive SA Junior Titles winning the National Junior Championship (SAJCC) in U16 - U20 an unprecedented 5 years in a row including being 2 Time Winner of SA Junior Closed (SAJCCC) The most prestigious Junior Chess event in South Africa.

I have represented my country at World Youth Festivals in Greece, Spain and Orepesa del Mar.

My best African Performance at African Youth Champs (AYC U21) in Libya (Finished 7th in Africa U21)

After my junior years I took a 5 year hiatus while getting married at an early age of 21 years and starting a family chess needed to take a back seat but I eventually returned to the South African Adult chess scene where over time I managed to gain invitations to the Elite SA Closed competition (National Qualifying tournament to select the official SA Fide Olympiad Team from the Top 12 players Qualified players in SA by way of a single Round-Robin where only the top 2 are guaranteed spots) I have had the priviledge of qualifying 4 times since 2001 with some memorable results against SA's best such as GM Kenny Solomon, IM Daniel Cawdery, IM Watu Kobese, IM George Michaelakis, IM David Gluckman, IM Donovan Vd Heever to name a few. Since then Ive maintained my status as a national master player in SA with my highest ranking being 9th in SA Overall in 2001 and receiving my CM Fide title in 2022.

My goal is to one day play at the Fide Olympiad for SA and to go past my peak rating of 2270 to reach 2300. Its a lifelong journey and I am still enjoying he ride...

(I have however gained 1 cap for the Adult SA team in the early 2000's on board 1 against Mauritius and beat their number 1 player - Roy Phillips - Elo 2165)

We are the current National Club Champions and have won this title 8 out of 14 times since 2003! We are also the current Western Province Premier League Champions 2022!

At Provincial Level I have recently represented Chess WP on board 1 Leading my team to victory at the Inter-Regional Champs in 2022
