Hello, I'm Arthur Guo, an International Grandmaster (GM).

I'm the highest-rated 17-year-old in the country (Dec. 2023) and ranked #29 (Jan. 2024) on the FIDE World Junior Ranking (Top 100 Juniors under age 21).

I'm a nine-time National Chess Champion.

In the world of high school chess, I've achieved back-to-back first-place finishes at the Denker National Tournament of High School State Champions in both 2022 and 2023. I also took home the top spot at the 2022 National High School Championship (K-12).

One of my memorable accomplishments was winning the championship and the Edmondson Cup at the 2021 National Open in Las Vegas. This event featured a strong field of 22 chess Grandmasters (GMs) and 29 International Masters (IMs), and it marked an important milestone in my chess career by earning my first GM Norm.

I won the 2021 National K-12 Blitz Chess Championship. Additionally, back in 2018, I managed to secure the National Junior High (K-9) Championship when I was just a 6th grader, and in 2016, I achieved same success in the National Elementary (K-6) Championship as a 4th grader. In 2012, I shared the title of National K-12 Grade Level Co-Champion.

I've also had the honor of representing Team USA and bringing home a Co-Champion in the 2018 Pan American Junior U20, as well as winning gold medals in the Pan American Youth U12 (2016) and U8 (2014).

In 2018, I had the opportunity to compete in Spain and tied for 2nd in the World Cadets Chess Championship.

Beyond chess, I also enjoy debate and golf.
