I used to play chess (and direct tournaments) at the Seattle Chess Club back in the 80's and 90's. Since then, other life responsibilities (Kids, owning and running a company, church activities, and participation on a few boards) sharply curtailed my OTB play, with my main outlet for play now being the internet.

I was a certified tournament director, and a scholastic chess coach (grades K-6) for several years. The team I founded eventually competed at the State and National level after a few years. My proudest moment was when the Kindergarten Section won the National Title in 2002.

I am still really into chess, but I also play jazz music ( sax, trumpet, and flute), and my wife and I train and run half marathons.

My favorite players are Capablanca, Alekhine, Botvinnik, Morphy, Fischer, and Kasparov.

P.S. Please don't send me a club request. If I want to join your club, I will find you.
