About Me!

Hi there! I am Coach Robert Suelo Jr, a professional chess coach with more than 25 years of experience.

I started playing chess at age 6 and have joined various chess tournaments. In 1996, at age 19, I won the Philippine Junior Chess Championship and represented the Philippines in the Asian Junior Chess Championship held in Macau that same year. Earning my National Master title helped launched my coaching career in 1997 while I remained active in joining different international chess tournaments.

I have coached thousands of students from different parts of the world. I have been conducting 1-on-1 private lessons as well as group coaching (both face-to-face and online). My portfolio includes teaching international chess in different schools in Singapore for more than 11 years and training professional chess players.

My students’ profile ranges from beginners as young as 3 years old to professionals and masters titled chess players. I have helped my students become strong professionals and master-titled players.

How will I help you?

You will be evaluated for your skills and abilities. Every player is unique, hence each program that I design is specifically tailored just for you. You will be given homework/exercises to work on between our sessions. My online resources are free at your disposal.
