Fair-chess (FC) default is removing the intrinsic advantage for White by removing the f2 and c7 pawns. In addition there's FC with handicaps (*) an awesome chess training tool And in such a way also opening theory isn't important anymore.

(*) handicap chess -as soon as there is >50 raring points difference- with severity of the handicaps defined by rating (class) differences creating an overall more pleasant and Social experience comparable with eg. Go (!,) increasing the winning chances for weaker players eg during a Swiss tournament or online, (**), diminishing the importance of opening theory, and yet preserving the competitiveness and overall rating differences between players of different strength (**) in the end the rating correction is applied again so a loss for the strongest player, having played with a handicap will not be much.
