I learned how to play around 14 years old when Bobby Fischer became the world chess champion. I played my neighbors and anyone else I could as I found out I was pretty good at it. I played in high school against my math teacher. When I moved to Utah, I joined the chess club and started to study chess. I won a few tournaments as a C class player. I also played 3rd chair on a team that won the Utah Team Open in 1986. I still have the book which we won (Practical Rook Endings) with our players and the scores written on the back page. Later I moved to Arizona and met a few players in the chess clubs and tournaments here. I kept studying chess and learning. I really enjoy getting to a good end game as I believe that if I can get a slight advantage and play to an end game, I will win.
