My name is Mukesh. I am 15 and I love to play chess. I am currently rated 1067 and really want to improve rapidly. I am studying in DP-1 or grade 11. 

I started playing since I was 10, but only recently have gotten a lot of interest. Nevertheless, I have learnt a lot since I was 10 and now I am a pretty decent player, even though my rating does not seem to agree! That is something that I would like to change and I want to become better. My current target is to cross at least 2000 in ratings, and I want to work towards that. I know that it will take up some time, and I am ready to invest that time. I know a couple of openings and theoretical endings so far, and I will be improving upon that too.

I play chess tournaments here in Fiji. There are not that many right now, but the number is gradually improving and I hope that soon there will be many a year. Here, people say that many of the players are under-rated due to the lack of tournaments. I hope that the same is true for me too!  

I will be posting about my regular activities in chess as frequently as I can.
