Chess.com Coach

I am Artem Gilevych, I was born in Ukraine and I started playing chess at a very young age. In Ukraine I grew as a chess player, became a CM, and then moved to Italy where I continued to follow my passion.

I have been the regional rapid champion of Emilia-Romagna (in Italy) in 2011 and in 2013. The next year, in 2014, I became FM and qualified for the first time at the Italian absolute chess finals. In the following years, I have been participating to the same tournament quite regularly.

In 2018 I achieved the IM title and in 2019 I became the Italian absolute champion in the Rapid chess and won the third place in the Blitz category.

Playing is a great passion, but I also dedicate a good amount of my time into teaching chess, indeed I have been coaching for many years now. Teaching gives me many satisfactions and my young students have achieved great titles in tournaments. I had the pleasure to be the coach of the Italian U20 team at the 2017 World Union Chess Championship held in Italy and to the one held in Turkey in 2018. I have also been the coach of the Italian team at the World Amateur Team Chess Championship in 2016.

It is also a great pleasure to work with the Chess School of Bologna (Italy) as a teacher.
