1. First form: Dance (Ichi no Kata: Enbu?, lit. "Waltz") - A single high-powered vertical slash.

2. Second Form: Clear Blue Sky (Ni no Kata: Heki-ra no Ten?, lit. "Blue Heaven") - The swordsman spins their body vertically to create a 360-degree slash.

3. Third Form: Raging Sun (San no Kata: Retsujitsu Kōkyō?, lit. "Scorching Crimson Mirror") - The swordsman unleashes two horizontal slashes to hit or defend from incoming attacks.

4. Fourth Form: Fake Rainbow ( Shi no Kata: Gen'nichi Kō?, lit. "Parhelion Rainbow") - The swordsman utilizes this technique to evade incoming attacks with high-speed twists and rotations, thus creating afterimages. The afterimages work most effectively on enemies with good vision, as they will probably attack the afterimage instead of the actual body of the user.

5. Fifth Form: Fire Wheel ( Go no Kata: Kasha?, lit. "Fire Chariot") - The swordsman leaps behind the opponent and spins in the air while releasing a flaming attack in a circular motion. It is likely the predecessor/progenitor of the Water Breathing: Second Form - Water Wheel.

6. Sixth Form: Burning Bones, Summer Sun ( Roku no Kata: Shakkotsu En'yō?, lit. "Burning Sun") - A powerful defensive technique. The swordsman unleashes a circular slash that defends from imminent frontal attacks.

7. Seventh Form: Sunflower Thrust ( Shichi no Kata: Yōkatotsu?, lit. "Sunflower Lance") - A single thrust attack with the point of the blade. This technique can be the progenitor for the Water Breathing: Seventh Form - Piercing Rain Drop

8. Eighth Form: Solar Heat Haze ( Hachi no Kata: Hirin Kagerō?, lit. "Soaring Flame Haze") - The swordsman charges towards the target, attacking it with a haze-covered slash that seemingly fails to land, but does hit the target. This technique is possibly the predecessor of Mist Breathing itself.

9. Ninth Form: Setting Sun Transformation ( Ku no Kata: Shayō Tenshin?, lit. "The Setting Sun") - The user backflips into the air to deliver a powerful upended flaming sword slash. This technique aims to decapitate the opponent.

10. Tenth Form: Beneficent Radiance ( Ju no Kata: Kiki Onkō?, lit. "Shining Ray Of Grace") - The swordsman spirals into the air and delivers a powerful slash that surrounds the enemy.

11. Eleventh Form: Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance (Juichi no Kata: Nichiun no Ryū Kaburimai?, lit. "Solar Halo Dragon Dance") - Possibly the Sun Breathing's most powerful singular technique. The swordsman unleashes a continuous, fast, and powerful sword attack that takes the form of a flaming sun dragon and is capable of decapitating multiple enemies at once. This technique may be the predecessor of the Water Breathing, Tenth Form - Constant Flux.

12. Twelfth Form: Flame Dance ( Juni no Kata: Enbu?, lit. "Waltz") - A two-combo strike which starts with a vertical slash and then a horizontal one right after.

13. Thirteenth Form (Jū San no kata?) - The user continuously performs all twelve forms of the breathing style in repetitive succession to increase the accuracy and agility of his movements while reducing fatigue. This form was created solely to kill Muzan, since the repetition of all twelve forms aims to destroy Muzan's twelve vital organs (seven hearts and five brains) that move freely inside his body, thanks to his shape-shifting ability
