I started playing chess in 2004 in high school. That year I was 3rd seat on a six man chess team and we won state for small school division. We went on to Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada and we did a little above average.(I got my @$$ handed to me by a 10 year old in the third round) Anyways I was a senior and appointed captain of the team the next year and we won state again! I play a much better game when it is over the board, my rating then was 1528 when I graduated. I stopped playing chess for about a year after high school and then started to play again but only off and on. Not until about December of 2008 when I found this site did I get back into chess. THANK YOU CHESS.COM!!! I have now started as assistant coach for the United High School chess team and am eager for their first tournament!
