I have played chess for years, though only sporadically.  After I retired from the army and went back to school, I started playing on facebook, which led me to this site.  I still consider myself in the beginner stage but I hope to improve.

If I see a position as intractable I will likely resign; please don't take offense.  I am not trying to deprive you of a crushing victory.  If you would rather play it out, just ask, and I will oblige.  I think generally finishing a losing game is a bit of a waste of time; I am not going to hope you make a blunder in the endgame.  I'd rather resign and start another game.  

That may be why my end game is weak...
