I like to play chess from time to time, but not too seriously. I like to play open games, and also enjoy tactical problem solving and endgame studies. However, if find opening theory rather tedious, so I'm working on a simplified repertoire, which presently consists of Caro-Kann and Semi-Slav setups as black, and as-yet-unknown as white. You can occasionally find me playing live chess on the Free Internet Chess Server (user name 'iangibson';).
