First and foremost I am a Christian which means I'm not perfect, but I'm perfectly forgiven. I am also (in no particular order) a husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, Yankee fan, movie fan, cook, computer technician, golfer and engineer. In groups of new people I am very shy but once I get to know people I have been described as 'witty' One Sunday afternoon when I was 10 years old, my father announced it was time for me to learn how to play chess. 32 years later I'm still playing (at close to the same skill level) and enjoying the game. My style of play usually has a very structured opening and the rest of the game is a fight for survival. I play with a lot of fear and respect. I love chess for the same reason I love my work and I majored in engineering: I love solving problems. 90% of life is solving problems so chess is good training for life if applied correctly. It will also help to keep alzheimers away. To date, my favorite player is still my father.
