I'm Luke! i live in London with my fiance Katharina. I started playing chess when I was 7 and soon realised that it was a game I could sometimes win! This came as a surprise because the swots in my class struggled despite being so great in maths or any other subjects people want to compare with chess. Why is that? Anyway, I've since realised that there is a whole world of people who are better than me and that just adds to the fun. For such a simple game there is so much to learn. There arent any secrets either. Anyone who studies long enough can be shown why a GM beat them and that makes it possible to get better and better. I mean, I love football too but dont try to show me how Zidane looks so calm on a football pitch yet reacts so quickly and changes the match in a blink of an eye.....all I can do there is watch and admire.
Anyway, I enjoy playing a few online games at oce but not too many ....I have a day job! I'm the deputy head of a primary school in north london. I run a chess club there and the children are used to hearing about games I play online.
