Hi, I am now retired, I spent the entirety of my life (since I left school) working for laboratories which dealt with the mathematics and science of colour.
Apart from chess my other interests include: playing fingerstyle guitar (acoustic ragtime and blurs), oil painting (surrealism), photography, reading (science fiction and science fact), mathematics and computer programming.
As well as chess my interests include:

I am currently trying to create three opening repertoires for myself. I am currently contemplating the following ideas:
Repertoire One: Standard repertoire:
As White I might play The London system
Against the French: 1.e4 e6 2.d4 e5
Against the Sicilian I will stick with my unorthodox repertoire.
As Black I thinking The Scandinavian. 1.e4 d5 3.exd5 Nf6
Against 1.d4 I'm still thinking about that.
Repertoire Two: Gambit repertoire:
As White: 1.e4 e5 2.d4 exd4 3.Bc4
1.e4 c5 2.b4 Sicilian Wing Gambit.
1.e4 d5 2.Nf3 Tennison Gambit
As Black: 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6 (same as standard repertoire).
1.d4 e5 3.dxe5 d6 Blackburne-Hartlaub Gambit.
Repertoire Three: Unorthodox repertoire:
As White: 1.a3 e5 2.d4 (reversed Scandinavian).
1.a3 d5 2.e4 (reversed version of Gambit repertoire).
1.e4 g6 2.h4
1.e4 c5 2.a4 (and 2.Na3)
As Black: 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6 (same as standard repertoire).
1.d4 e5 3.dxe5 d6 (Same as Gambit repertoire).
Obviously creating a repertoire is a lot of work, a lifetimes work, but it has to be done.
