Since I was a child I looked at Chess as the game which ist most helpfull in life because you learn to think strategic.

However I had always the impression it's difficult to learn the rules and didn't even give it a real try.

Then about 1 or 2 years ago I found a cheap "Chess Trainer 2000" in a local retail store and thought: Why not buy it and return it if it's not the right thing for me.

And it worked well, I was able to grap the basics of the game real fast and play an occassional game with friends who were not very expierienced like me.

But each time I played against more advanced players it was frustrating for both, because I had no real plan but was playing like on a turn to turn base and often forgot that the goal of the game is a mate and not to get as many of the opponents figures as possible.

Now with the training features and the conditional game play on this website I hope to improve my play to a level where it isn't frustrating anymore to play against advanced players but instead a fun way to learn new strategies.
