Summary
This Chess.com University class is like an online college class, except the topic is chess! This thorough class is aimed at 1200 - 1500 USCF / FIDE players and will cover everything about the opening players at this level must know in order to substantially improve their chess.
Additionally, this class will train students and focus on improving their ability to calculate, evaluate, analyze, plan, independently study openings, etc.
Knowledge is important so all of the necessary content will be covered via written lectures, live video lectures, chess.com articles, chess.com videos, chess.com chess mentor courses, a class textbook, and any other resources I choose to employ.
With that said, the purpose of this class format is to help students "learn-by-doing." Students will be able to improve their skills and abilities by doing the class assignments and then receiving feedback from me. Students will learn exactly how to apply opening principles to reach good middlegames!
This 6-week class consists of a live 20-minute orientation, four 1-hour live lectures, a 10-minute one-on-one lesson, pretest/posttest, several written lectures and class assignments, etc.
Tuition is $89/person for Chess.com diamond members. If you are not a diamond member, you need to purchase 1 month of diamond membership on the first day of class. Please note that while the Chess 013 class is 6-weeks long, the 1-month membership will only last 4 weeks. This is okay because we will only need the diamond membership features during the first 4 weeks of class.

Please register by midnight on Friday, September 13th if you are interested in taking this course. Also remember that the class is limited to the first 40 students so make sure you register before all the spots are taken! You may register up to one week late if the class does not get filled, but it is most convenient if you register by the deadline.
Class will start on Saturday, September 14th, 2013 at 12:30 PM PDT (Pacific Time, USA) with a live orientation session.
