Hi guys!
Finally, it’s here - the long-awaited Brightwarts Finale!! This will be a weeklong event from Sunday 10/25th to Sunday 11/1, featuring strong Simul hosts from our very own Bright Chess!
Sunday 10/25

Tuesday 10/27
7pm - Jayden Wu
Thursday 10/29

Saturday 10/31

Sunday 11/1

Each simul host will play at a different time during the week, as shown above. It’s first come first served, so sign up for your slot(s) against these strong players here as soon as you can! Please be sure to actually show up on time for the slots you sign up for.
How will the event work?
We have five players that will host simuls. You may join whichever you want by filling this form. Once you have signed up we will inform the host that you have joined their simul. When it is time to play, challenge the host to a 30 minute, 5 second increment game with a random color.
Will we still gain points?
Yes you will. In fact, this is your team’s chance to turn the tables!! Each win will get you 4 points for your house and each draw will get 2, which is double the amount you usually get in regular matches! In addition, you will be able to join a simul hosted by someone in your own house, which will earn the same amount of points for your house.
Hosts and contenders earn the same amount of points for wins and draws.
Where will this event be held?
All simul events will be over chess.com, except for the one against Li Li, which will be on lichess.org. If you sign up for Li Li’s event, please create a lichess account if you don’t have one. We will follow you up with further instructions if you sign up for Lili's event.
Will we get win bonuses?
Each simul will take place throughout the Brightwarts castle. If you win, you will receive cool Harry Potter artifacts that will get you extra points! These artifacts will also become even more crucial afterward, but we won’t reveal the details yet!
How many rounds will this be?
Each simul that you sign up for will only be one game.
Will there still be regular house matches?
No, there will not be. Furthermore, this simul week will be the last official week of Brightwarts, but at the end of this week, there will be another goodbye event.
Who will challenge who?
The simul challengers - that's you guys - will be responsible for challenging the simul host.
Best of luck you guys! Please contact Katie, Andria, or Jonny if you have any more questions!
