Raiyan1000 Unbeaten Again

Raiyan1000 won both his games in an abbreviated edition of the Slow Mow XIV swiss tonight to claim the gold medal. Tijuanaboomboom was second though he won no games.

Raiyan opened the tourney with a KID to answer LukeLandwalker's English and after making a weak knight move early, blundered on move 14 to give Luke a significant advantage but on move 20 got the lead back as Landwalker blundered. Raiyan made 2 great moves to win a bishop but then blundered into a mate in 2. Luke found the first move but missed the mate in one, breathing life back into Raiyan's position. Raiyan outplayed him the rest of the way, forcing a resignation on move 41.

Meanwhile JuiceGiusti failed to show for the pairing, giving Tijuanaboomboom a one-point bye. He also failed to show for round 2, giving Landwaklker the one point bye. Raiyan destroyed TJBB in round 2 with a Vienna gambit to get the gold.

Round 3 was cancelled as Landwalker dropped out and Juicegiusti was still nowhere to be found. Players who repeatedly join tournaments and then fail to appear for the rounds have started to be a problem and have adversely affected our events. There will be sanctions if needed to correct the situation.
