I am Shrayan, based in Mumbai, India. I learnt to play chess 8 years ago at the age of 11 and it has taken over a fair share of my life since then :-) I mainly played online and have tried to make the most of the online chess world to improve my game. However since 2022 I have become more serious about over the board chess too and am currently on a goal to become a titled player as soon as possible. My best over the board achievement till date has been sharing first in the Blackpool Chess Conference in UK, 2022.

I also have 2-3 years of coaching experience and have worked with students of varied age groups from all over the world including India, USA, UK, Mexico, Brazil etc. I have found that it greatly fulfilling to offer coaching to fellow chess lovers and help them achieve  goals on their chess journey.

 My approach to training is totally personalised because each chess player is unique. So after getting to know the student better we prepare a training plan on how to best make use of their time and resources for improvement. This includes game analysis, opening repertoire building, calculation training, positional ideas, endgame technique and much more. I also share related material with my students and provide homework . But most importantly I ensure the lessons are fun and enjoyable!
