Okay, let's start with the basics and I'm going to tell everything I know :

The pawn moves forward only moving, but captures at a diagonal from the front. The pawn only moves one space at a time, but can move 2 on it's first move, and this does not mean it can move 2 diagonally. At the start of a game, you start out with 8 pawns. When a pawn reaches the end of the board, it can change into any piece other than the king, and this is called promotion. En Passant, meaning In Passing, is when a pawn can still capture another pawn that moves 2 to jump past the pawn, but you MUST do the capture right away, or it won't work.

Okay, now to get a little more advanced:

It's good to have more pawns than the other player, especially in the endgame. Like say you have 3 pawns on your queenside and the other guy only has 1. You will win in this case of it's the King Pawn ending as you'll have enough to get a new queen. Also doubled pawns are when you have 1 pawn on top of another pawn.

Okay that's all I know for now and can someone tell me what an isolated and passed pawn is because I don't know these.
