Hello everyone!
I am Marina Makropoulou from Greece, Woman Grandmaster, and FIDE Trainer.
Among my best chess achievements as a player:
- 8 times Greek Women's Champion and once Romanian Women's Champion
- 2 Chess Olympiad medals; silver with the Romanian national team and bronze for individual performance on the 2nd board
- 15 times Olympic National Team member
- Twice World Vice-champion at the World Women's Senior Championship and once European Women's Senior Vice-champion
As a coach:
- I was a trainer and coach of the United Arab Emirates Women's National Team in the 1986 Olympiad, with one of my players winning a gold Olympiad medal for her performance on the 2nd board.
- Since then, I have been giving lessons privately, in schools, in chess clubs, and online.
I would like to share my experience by coaching players online and/or in-person; from beginners to experienced ones, from kids and youngsters to adults. It would be a real joy helping players who also love chess to improve their game.
