Thank you Grandmaster Dejan Bojkov.
Wow, you have to love tactics.
this is great!
Another one, well done.
This is a video discussion of the strenghth of rooks on semi open d and e files. White pushes the isolated d pawn to d5, with the idea of a strong break through, up the middle, releasing the power of the major and minor pieces situated in the rear ranks and in readyness.
I think at 13:59 you said Qh6 instead of Bh6
This is an all in one series, fist-class lesson. GM Dejan Bojkow is not playing around, he's well prepared and uses his time most effectively. He doesn't have to tell you to pause, you have no other choice; otherwise, you are miss the point. Excellent positional value, packed with tons of tactical and attacking themes.
THAT IS GOOD.....you have good ideas about how to move pieces in hard situations.
that´s great when you are a begginer.
aww thats just lovely now look at that
Very nice motif.
Many times I feel that my pieces are all well/better placed, but can't follow up with a good move/plan. This video reveals a wealth of possiblities, though the calculations are not trivial. The pawn push really is a rich avenue to consider.
This is really good stuff, very useful!
Must watch this again and again and again ,etc, etc, etc .
Outstanding presentation sir. Dozens of attacks to deal with every possible defense. A video to look at over and over again. Will be definitely getting out the board and trying to replay these lines. Thank you.
Your series on the Rooks have been very helpful to me, and, I'm sure others. Thank you.
by GM Dejan Bojkov
Today Dejan concludes his study of the Rooks, what they dream about, and everything that makes them great! Here we see several Isolated Queen Pawn examples designed to show the power of the Rooks on both the open, and Semi-Open files. Watch out for the d5-pawn push in IQP positions, and never underestimate the power of a Rook sacrifice on the open file. Enjoy!
