The show Queen's Gambit takes a look at the fictional prodigy, Beth Harmon, as she grows from a beginner to a world-class player. The chess in the show is very real and often inspired by some of the greatest games in history. See if you can find the moves that brought Beth all the way to the top!

Episode 1: Beth vs Mr. Shaibel

Beth learned chess from Mr. Shaibel, but soon started to defeat him. In this game, she recreates one of the oldest chess games ever recorded and wins a nice miniature.

Mr. Granz from the local high school chess club came to see a young Beth and she played a simul against him and Mr. Shaibel. She finished the last few moves without looking.

Beth shocks the community by winning the Kentucky State Championship in her first tournament. In the final round she defeats a local master, Harry Beltik with a beautiful combination.

When she's at Benny's place in New York, Hilton Wexler and Arthur Levertov visit and Hitlon present her with a tricky mate in three puzzle. Beth wows them by finding the first move almost instantly.

At Benny's apartment, Beth defeats three strong players in multiple consecutive blitz simuls! The tactical highlight was her brilliant demolition of Benny.

In the final episode, Beth takes on her nemesis, Vasily Borgov, with first place on the line. After the adjournment, she wins with a sparkling combination and then goes to the park for a few more games!
