Hello everyone! Today I wanted to talk about having a good testimony before the people and God.

Let's start with a passage from the Bible:

"they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it. But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it." (Numbers 14:23-24)

In the text above we can read about the first opportunity the Israelites had to enter the promised land. But as we know, they refused to do this because they did not trust God and defied Him instead of obeying Him. But in the end God appears and says that none of them would enter the promised land. Only Caleb would enter the land, because "he had a different spirit in him".

I have read this passage many times, but I had not paid attention to this situation. Caleb received a good testimony from God.

Jesus once said:

"There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true." (John 5:32)

Jesus said that God bore witness about him. And may we also seek a good witness from God about us in our lives. May we have a life that pleases God.

We can also talk about Joseph, who when he was in Egypt, deciphered the king's dreams. This was so wonderful to the king that he came to the conclusion that it was not enough to have someone in the position of governor who knew mathematics and other special subjects. But he had to have someone with the spirit of the Lord. (Genesis 41.39-40)

Another person to be mentioned is Daniel, who after King Belshazzar gave a party dishonoring the temple objects, saw a message being written by a floating hand. And when he talked to Daniel, he confessed that he needed someone who had the spirit of the Lord living in that person, to accomplish such a difficult task. (Daniel 5.13-14)

Now, if I ask you, would you be able to say what these people would have in common? In all these people it was visible that they had something different. They all had a different spirit living within them. The Lord's spirit.

Could the spirit of the Lord dwell in the life of a person who lives wrongly? Could the spirit of the Lord dwell in the life of a person who has no intimacy with God and lives carelessly regarding the things of God?

Have you been giving a good testimony to those around you? Have you received a good testimony from God? Does the Holy Spirit live in you?

These are questions that I leave for reflection.
