In Murphy's Honor

Submitted by MPresident on Sat, 01/24/2009 at 11:10pm.

This is the game I recently played. I do not submit any info about Mr. Murphy and the game he played as all have already been written by ADK at http://www.chess.com/article/view/a-little-taste-of-morphy.

I advise to first look at original and then whatchmy game. I hope you like both!

MPresident.

"I can't really see a way for white to avoid being at least a bishop down."

I don't see a Bishop down, but rather down the exchange though with an extra pawn. Maybe I'm missing something?

On 18. Bxd7+ why didn't black reply with Qd7? The queen trade can be avoided but I can't really see a way for white to avoid being at least a bishop down.

Why cannot black play 13. nd3+ and win the white queen?
