Humpy's withdrawal

In the commonwealth chess championship, GM Koneru Humpy lost on time and withdrew. She blamed the officials for not giving clear information about the time controls, was her act right?

Considering how poorly Carlsen performed after something similar happened to him, I certainly don't blame her. She might have realized it would ruin her frame of mind, and instead of compounding the situation, decided to withdrawl.

"In the first round, there was an announcement made that the time control was 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment plus 30 minutes. However, there was a complete ambiguity as the published time control was 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment without any additional time. The problem was, that so many things had changed from the original publication of the details of the event. There were originally 10 rounds scheduled, but now there are only 9. The round times are all completely different and the sections have all changed. Therefore, when this announcement was made in round one, most players just assumed that the time control had also been changed."

Hmmmm ,  I didnt know that the regulations could be changed after they are published ?  This seems like a big screw up to me .

I agree

I hardly think she should be persecuted for it now. There was a fair amount of confusion about the time control. She wasn't the only one with the impression that there was 30 additional minutes available. Tania Sachdev lost a game in the same manner.
