Folding Linen board...New OLD Stock

Sort:
TundraMike

I was surfing when I came across this at the HOS web site.  It is not exactly a new item as they uncovered these in the store room. Why they were left all these years I have no idea but they do go back a long ways.  Great thing about linen is that it doesn't show age as I have a Druke folding linen board from 30 years ago that looks just like the day I bought it.

These boards from HOS fold up in 1/4's for easy portability. Only thing I didn't care for is when you do a 1/4 fold the board will gap, unlike the 1/2 fold which is just a continuation of the square in the middle of the board like the old Druke linen that is no longer made.  The icture shows ever so small a gap and I can say with all honesty it gaps more than the picture shows since the picture is shot on an angle and not from overhead.  I bought this board and feel it is definetly wortht he $9.96 they are asking for it with no problem. They also have a single fold but in smaller squares. I am not affiliated or benefit from the HOS sales. I believe you can also use a 10% off coupon so how wrong can you go for a unique product.

Tell me what you think of the board. I received it and I can see it will wear really tough and clean up very easily. I would rate it 5/5 if it wasn't for the small gap but they can't make one like such without it. So I rate it 4.5/5.0

Its nice but, I don't like the red boarder stripe.

Mike do you know if one can apply the HOS 10% coupon discount to this already discounted item?

TundraMike

Yes Mike it should discount it another 10% with no problem. The problem is however that shipping on 1 board is as much as the board. You almost want to add it on to another item.

I bought two of these years ago when they were regular stock at HOS, except mine have green covers and borders.  Very nice boards but there's that darn gap. Still, they're a steal at less than ten bucks!

They used to advertise single-fold boards with 2 1/4 inch squares but such boards were NEVER in stock.  I did, however, pick up a few single-folds with 2.375 inch squares.

Here's a pic of one my double-folds, gap and all:
