Hi to all, im thinking of trading my book "How to beat bobby fischer" by GM Mednis to a "Bobby Fischer Rediscovered" by Gm Soltis. I know Gm soltis is also a good author in fact i have his book "How to become a chess master", my question is would it be a fair trade? and second is the book  better than that of Fischer's MY60MGs? ty

Well, coming from someone who has read neither, if you've already read the first book, trade if you haven't read the second one. If not, read your book and then trade. (Unless you are a collector, in which case, I don't know which is better.)

Has anyone read the book? or any reviews about it?

You can probably get a review at ChessCafe.com      Oops!

ok thanks ill look it up.

If you can, purchase the Bobby Fischer Rediscovered book outright, or try to trade something else for it.  This way you have both books.

I wouldn't trade my How To Beat Bobby Fischer book, by Mednis, for anything.  I've had it since 1975 and it's one of my favorites, out of all of the 549 chess books in my collection.  It's very instructive, with lots of entertaining analysis.

Well honestly, the price was a bit too high so i thought of trading any of my books for it but the person chose the How to beat bobby fischer book.  So it got me thinking since both books are a Fischer book anyway.

May i ask if you have read the book by soltis? does it contain better analysis or anything that would top other fischer book? ty

MrEdCollins

No, I haven't seen the BFR book yet.
