how many of you think the computer workout is better than chess mentor.I think so because.......

1:computer workout has most of chess mentors features.

2:computer workout lets you make any move, therefore improving the variety.

I know chess mentor gives you feedback but is it worth the extra money?

Those are plusses, to be sure; Workout is an awesome feature & learning tool.

I'll continue to use both features, however.  For one thing, they are each really only as good as their content, and Chess Mentor includes a wealth of really *fantastic* stuff, which is owing in large part to its maturity as a product.

I don't think that it's better than chess mentor.  I logged on today to see how many people thought that it might be better that Tactics Trainer.  I think it's better for pretty much the same reason theawsomeone gave.  Chess Mentor is different in that if you read what it says it gives you back grounds and reasons (sometimes) for why you're doing the things that you're doing.

I enjoy the computer workout and it is better for a few situations, but overall I think Chess Mentor is far superior.  The computer workout has no where near the number of situations and positions as chess mentor, nor does it give any reasoning behind moves.  I like it for say working on a B & N vs. K endgame, and a few other situations, but overall I'm happy to pay extra $$$ for Mentor

this is awesome i can improve and play at this site at the same time.

Chess Mentor is better in my opinion because it's like having a coach.  Chess Workout is "working out" on your own after training with chess mentor.
