An interesting weapon against the Scandinavian/Center Counter

Hi, I was wondering what people think of this:

1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qa5 4.b4!?

I think White gets excellent compensation for the pawn and keeps an advantage in this way.

I tried it out in a blitz game in Live Chess, but unfortunately my opponent did not respond in the best way:

that's too deep for me

This is often the follow up

8.Bd3 is also interesting. 7...a6 might be a good try for equality.

Usually Black plays  5. Rb1  Qd3  and if White responds with 6. Nb5 then not to worry as Black plays 6. ...   Qd8 and he will get his tempo back with c6 or a6.

By the way is anyone ever going to start a team based on 1. e4  d5

2. exd5  Qxd5   as their motive?

instead of 5 rb1, 5 a4 is a intersting move, making it hard for black to play e6 because of ba3 and bxf8

OTB yes,  5. a4 is an interesting move and I have had people play it against me. Gives Black different problems than 5. Rb1.

In Roman's Lab #24 (live from Las Vegas) during a class, a guy asks Roman about this gambit and it's VERY funnny to hear Roman's answer (and his opinion) about that... I couldn't stop laughing the first time that I watched it Laughing...

There is a better line.
