nakamura played it against vishy . the game was a draw . so its definitely not a bad opening. Kasparov won a nice game against vishy in an Evan's gambit

SLOBess,

There are some excellent move by move analysis Evan's Gambit training videos for the opening's most common ideas and variations created by:

Grand Master Jacek Stopa in the Chess.com videos library here:

=> http://www.chess.com/video/library?author=stopinsky

(He even shows a game he had played recently in a tournament, move by move, explaining why he made each move and what he would have played if his opponent made a different move and why.)

He shows all the most common traps with the opening and how to catch your opponent off guard with them. Wild stuff!

I learned a lot from them and have enjoyed many fun games as the result.

You might have to claim your diamond membership to access them, but it's worth it just for that series of videos because you'll know exactly what to do and why you're doing it.

It's hard to explain his way of making it seem easy until you use it for yourself.

If you would like to play some unrated games with it, send me a friend request so you can send me a message on here and I'll play you a couple of training games with you.
