The English (C-4) & King's Indian attack (N-f3) are also widely popular!

Yes, it's ture!

Its been proven on these forums that 1.e4 wins by force after 2.Qh5.

However, its also been proven that 1.d4 wins by force after 2.bf4 3.nc3 4.nb5 and 5.nc7+ winning the rook. Defending against this plan with say ..c6 also loses by force because the best square for the knight is gone.

Was the daeth opening in 1.d4 or 1.e4? because that also wins by force.

DrSpudnik

The Daeth was 1.d4 d5 2.h4 Surprised

Looks like 1.d4 is the better opning move as there is two ways to win by force in it, while 1.e4 only has one.

1. e4 is best for beginners, since it leads to alot of diffrent pawn structures, and logical play. 1. d4 is strong, and even have a higher score for white in SUPERGM tournaments, but who cares? The kings gambit is obviously much better than the queens gambit.

I was told white playing 1.d4 is favoured over 1.e4 simply because there are too many strong lines against 1.e4 and black can quickly equalize or put themselves in a more comfortable position due to many opening theories against a lot of 1.e4 openings.

1.d4 may surprise your opponents if they are relatively novice or beginners, it may pose a serious threat if you know the lines for QGA/D for intermediate players and those who have been playing a while.

Nf3- Kings Indian Attack is a controlled and solid way to start a game of chess against a stronger opponent. KID and KIA are some pretty solid lines to play

1.d4 is the best move for White.  The pawn is already protected, and Black can't use any tricks to attack you.  Instead, Black is typically stuck defending an unwinable position.  As you play in tournaments, the higher the section you play in, the less and less that 1.e4 is seen compared to 1.d4 or 1.Nf3.  Not that it's not seen at all, it's still popular, but I know people that play in Under 1800 or Under 1600 sections that go a year without facing 1.d4.

1.e4 White has 3 results.  Win, Draw, or Loss

1.d4 White has 2 results.  Win or Draw

1.d4 is the best move on the board.

Ignore the stupid trolls above me OP.

I don't think you should care about this question zltbchess, because the answer is beyond you. Of course, people will humor you by saying one is better than another. This is true though, the one opening that is best, is the one that the player feels most comfortable and "at home" with.
