Obviously I keep that as a secret weapon for competition. For casual games, I give my opponents the illusion they have a chance.

Vanessa, you don't have any support for your argument. I believe instead of saying one opening is better than the other, I think you intended that you like 1.e4 more than 1.d4.

None of the 4 major openings are better than another.

My post actually has nothing to do with that -- I would have said the same thing with an online rating of 1000.

The real meaning is that most people good enough to be 2000 at blitz wouldn't say something so ignorant, hence correlation, but this topic shows that it is still possible to do so.

Personally my favorite opening is 1. f3. Followed by 2. g4...I have never lost a game that I started that way:-)
