Ponzania is a weak opening ?

What do you think about Ponzania Opening ?

not too much wrong with the opening imo. Probably =, but white ha some nice tricks and if youre happy playing the positions it gives you then its as good a choice as any.

Why not play C4 instead of C3 here?

good question. i guess you can check out people killing themselves (and others) over that question in this thread

my personal opinion is that it's about =, nothing more. i would definitely consider it against a weaker and unprepared opponent, though.

z3ph3r: 3.c3 fights for the center, white wants to play d2-d4 and take back with the c-pawn if black takes.

3.c4, on the other hand, leaves a hole on d4 and blocks in the king's bishop.

3.c4 isn't really bad I guess, but 3.c3 is a much more logical move.

At my level, at least I feel it's better to try every opening if one want to gather knowledge over a decent pawn structure.
