Ponziani Opening
I Think this line
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.c3 Nf6 4.d4 Nxe4 5.d5 Bc5 6.dxc6 Bxf2+ 7.Ke2 Bb6 8.Qd5 Nf2 9.Rg1 O-O 10.cxb7 Bxb7 11.Qxb7 Qf6 12.Na3 e4 13.Nc4 Rab8 14.Qd5 Ng4 15.Kd2 exf3 16.Nxb6 f2 17.Rh1 Rxb6 18.Kc2 Ne5 19.b3 Re8 20.Ba3 Ng4 21.Kb2 Ne3 22.Qd3 Qc6 23.Rc1 a5 24.Ka1 a4 25.b4 Qf6 26.b5 Rbe6 27.h3 Re5 28.Qxd7 h6 29.b6 Qxb6 30.Bd3 c5 31.Qb5 Qf6 32.Qa6 R5e6 33.Qxa4 c4 34.Bb1 Rb8 35.Qa7 Reb6 36.Bb4 f1=Q 37.Rhxf1 Nxf1 38.Qe7 Qxe7 39.Bxe7 Ne3 40.Bb4 Nxg2 41.Bc5 Re6 42.Bf5 Re2 43.a4 Ne3 44.Rb1 Rd8 45.Be4 Nc2+ 46.Bxc2 Rxc2 47.Bd4 Ra8 48.Rb4 f5 49.Kb1 Rg2 50.Kc1 Re8
is highly problematic for White.
I couldn't find a way for White to improve.
The Ponziani Opening is a great opening for the class A player. You will score many wins.
The Ponziani Opening is far better than its reputation, I have won many games with the Ponziani vs all classes of players up to grandmaster.
Have not yet won any games vs Super Grand Masters--but maybe that is because I have not played against any Suoer Grand Masters?

IM Pfren said he's available perhaps you should start the match you offered like 3 years ago
complex--I don't remember that offer. Probably it was in a certain variation of the Ponziani.
There were some strong players who disagreed with me on this variatioin 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6
3. c3 d5 4. Bb5 ---until I proved them wrong.
Pfren is a very strong correspondence player and knows the Ponziani.
By the way--all openings which start 1. e4 e5 are draws with very best play from both sides.
hi i have some analysis of the Vukovic gambit variation. what do you think of it? is this something a human being could play or is this sort of crazy stuff just for computers? (there is also some analysis of some other lines that i looked into)
understandable. besides it would be rather hard to memorize exactly how to make a draw in every line when down a bunch of material, and even then you might have to play it out and ruin the draw....
Have noticed there has been many recent and interersting postings on you tube on the Ponziani.
Ponziani fans will really enjoy,

I love the Ponziani! It's a great opening. I've been playing it for the last several years!
what is a profile?
an account. i have read identical profiles of yours on at least two accounts--unless you changed your username which would also account for it.
I BELIEVE BOTH THE PONZIANI AND THE RUY L,OPEZ ARE DRAWS WHEN NEITHER SIDE MAKES A MISTAKE.
ALSO ANY OPENING WHICH STARTS WITH 1, e4 e5 IS A DRAW WHEN NEITHER SIDE MAKES A MISTAKE.
THE SMITH MORRA GAMBIT MAY NOW BE REFUTED 1. e4 c5 2. d4 cxd4 3. c3 RIP KEN SMITH
FAVORITE OPENINGS FOR ME INCL.UDE 1. d4 and 1. c4
