I play Grand Prix. If I were you I would look at 2. a6. This prevents Bb5 and the exchange on c6. The problem with the exchange is that it allows white to attack d4 with his queen without worrying about the queen's knight. And the queen on d4 attacks right into the heart of the g7 set-up, if white can get there fast enough it prevents g6 at all at the risk of lossing the king's rook.
sicilian frand prix
2..a6 doesn't really work for dragon players. 1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 a6?! 3.Nf3 and now black is in a bit of trouble I think because 3..g6 can be met by 4.d4, when you will probably reach some line of the so called dragondorf, which is not so good.
I also play dragon but I have no real set theory against the grand prix. My plan involve something like c5-g6-bg7-nc6-e6-d6-ne7 with a clamp on f5, and soon I can play f5 or d5 myself.
A setup with 2..e6 and 3..a6 is pretty good. Then you play moves like Nc6, Nge7, g6 , Bg7 and then castle. Or you can play 2..e6 and 3..d5. You pick.
but if 3 nf3 then im comited to e6 sicilian and white will play with d4 open the position and i wont be able to play my pet line dragon
I played the dragon a lot and i suggest you stop playing it. The yugoslav attack is being killing the dragon players......
i usualy play the sicilian against e4....im basically afraid of sicilian grandprix with bc4 and f5 ideas..pls suggest ood lies for blabk with g6 setups as i play dragon more often
