I don't win my games through good luck. 

At your level (and mine as well) you are more likely to win a game because someone said you good luck than because of the opening.

You might study an opening because you have fun looking at the lines (I do) but don't expect to gain a single point from this until you have stopped blundering several times per game.

White:  London System (1 d4  2 Nf3  3 Bf4) or Torre Attack (1 d4  2 Nf3  3 Bg5)

Black:  1...c6 and then 2...d5 (i.e. Caro-Kann versus 1 e4 and Slav against everything else)

English with an early fianchetto is another decent choice for white as well. Solid, and a good way to get opponents to pit their actual chess skills (minus opening memorization) against yours.
