About friend requests

So, I opened the chess.com app on my iPhone very early this morning (still half asleep) and the first thing I somewhat see is a message pop up and then the options of accept and decline; without even reading the message, as a reflex, I chose decline, only to realize a second later what I had done.
So I turned down a friend request without even being able to read whom it was from. I searched in my messages (already on my laptop) and I can't find the message that you supposedly send to a user in a friend request.
Is there a way in which you could find that message? Or maybe see past friend requests?

If you know who sent it to you then send one back(that is what I usually do) and if you didn't see the name then I dunno
