The process is a little different depending on how you access the site.
First question, you can't and you don't need to. That just sets an initial rating and if it is too high or too low then playing games will get you were your true strength is quickly. The rating system is good at that.
On the second, don't leave the game until it completes. If you are on the website you could open a new tab or window but if you are on the app it likely will reset if you leave the game.

When i have some games open the site flips over to main overview after every step on the board. Can this be altered, or turn off?
