I have noticed on at least 5 occasions which a game is declared a draw (due to insufficient material) when my opponent should have lost on time. Why have I been short changed almost 50 points>?
You haven't, you just haven't learnt all of the rules.
Search the forums for insufficient material.
If you have no material to mate your opponent, his time out is a draw.
By the way, I saw your game. You had a bare king and the other guy had 3 pawns and a rook.
The only way to win with a bare king is if the other guy inexplicably resigns. If he times out, it is a draw.
